Equipment

The only equipment that is mandatory for training and grading is as follows :-

Gi (Karate Suit & belt) - Gi's can be purchased from Ataru for as little as £20. Ataru can also supply high quality Gi's at a discounted rate, which incorporate the custom design club logo.

Seasoned Karateka can and often do, pay around £100 for Gi's and Ataru recommend Kamae International as the preferred supplier. The expense relates to customisation and a higher level of quality & versatility in a Gi.

Groin Guard (Male) - Groin Guards are a must if you intend to train for longer than a month and are required by Ataru for all male student who are over the age of 14. They vary in costs and can be purchased from most sports shops and also Kamae International for around £9, a small price to pay for the invaluable protection they offer!
